(...i no longer have children in the public school system, but i'm keenly aware of the challenges of contemporary public education. i visit classrooms and converse with 12-18 year-olds on a weekly basis. i respect both teachers and administrators who go to work with the intention of providing a safe and fertile ground for the physical growth and literacy of our children...jim)
